Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Towner (the "Service") collects the following personal information:

  • Account Information: Google account email and name (automatically collected via Google OAuth login)
  • Profile Information: Nickname, profile photo (entered/uploaded by user)
  • Demographic Information: Date of birth, gender (entered by the user at sign-up; used for statistical purposes only)
  • Location Information: Device location (one-time collection for community assignment)
  • Device Information: FCM push notification token, device type (iOS/Android)
  • Service Usage Information: Posts, comments, messages, likes, and subscription data

2. Purpose of Collection and Use

  • User registration and identity verification
  • Location-based community assignment
  • Providing services such as posts, comments, and messages
  • Sending push notifications (new comments, messages, etc.)
  • Service improvement and statistical analysis
  • Prevention of misuse and handling of reports

3. Retention and Period of Use

  • Upon account deletion, data is immediately deleted (account info, profile, FCM tokens, notifications)
  • After account deletion, posts/comments are anonymized as "Deleted User" and retained
  • Report records are retained for service operation purposes even after account deletion

4. Disclosure to Third Parties

The Service does not, in principle, provide personal information to third parties. However, exceptions are made in the following cases:

  • When the user has given consent
  • When required by law

5. Processing Delegation

The Service delegates personal information processing to the following parties for smooth service provision:

  • Supabase: Database hosting, authentication processing (United States)
  • Google Firebase: Push notification delivery (United States)
  • Google Cloud: OAuth authentication (United States)

6. User Rights

Users may exercise the following rights:

  • Edit profile information (nickname, profile photo): Change directly on the in-app profile page
  • Change notification settings: Toggle by type in in-app notification settings
  • Account deletion: Profile → Delete Account button in the app
  • Request for personal information deletion: Contact us at the address below

7. Security Measures

  • All data transmission encrypted with SSL/TLS
  • Access control through Supabase Row Level Security (RLS)
  • No password storage (OAuth authentication method)
